BRIEFING: Preventing Human Trafficking and Supporting Survivors<\/h1>\n

Tuesday, April 4 12:00- 1:00 pm Cannon House Office Building Room 421<\/strong><\/p>\n

Human trafficking is fueled by root causes including poverty, discrimination, weak worker protections and restrictive immigration policies. Effective prevention efforts must include targeting these root causes through legislation and federal administrative policies. At this briefing, experts will discuss current policy efforts to prevent human trafficking, including the Trafficking Survivor’s Relief Act of 2017, the Runaway and Homeless Youth Act, the CARE Act, and the Trafficking Victims Protection Act reauthorization.<\/p>\n

The panelists are members of the Freedom Network USA (FNUSA). FNUSA is the nation’s largest network of organizations and individuals working with trafficking survivors in the United States. FNUSA works to expand access to victim-centered services and protections and to address the root causes that allow trafficking to flourish.
